From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman statement: I entered a practice hover auto as trained and how I had succesfully practiced 3 times prior in the same flight. Into wind, rolled the throttle to idle allowed the helicopter to begin to settle. I raised collective to cushion the landing, however this time when I did so the helicopter ballooned to apx 10 feet and began to yaw to the left. I tried to arrest the yaw rate with full right pedal. When this proved insignificant, I pitched the helicopter to utilized the weathervane effect of airspeed. I leveled the helicopter just before ground contact and slid on the skids. The skids subsequently fell of the pavement into the grass, dug in the dirt and cause a roll.
