What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot stated as follows: the original plan for the afternoon was to do a few high speed taxi and get used to the aircraft on the ground. On the first run I pulled the nose up a little and then tried to ease the rear wheels up. When I added a little power the aircraft unexpectedly gained altitude at a high rate. I leveled off and pulled power back to bring it back down to the runway. I noticed a tree fairly close to my 10 o'clock and attempted to turn right back toward centerline. The aircraft turned left and that's when I knew I was in a stall. I should have powered up and nosed down but that tree, now more in front of me, froze my mind and I hesitated. The hesitation led to the unrecoverable stall into the ground.
