From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

According to statements from passengers and witness pilot who was on the float pond, aircraft descended to runway normally without any indication of mechanical abnormalities. Witness pilot got on radio and yelled "gear". Pilot then put gear down just as aircraft was touching down, which was not enough time for mains to extend, but was enough time for nosewheels to extend due to flare. Passengers stated that pilot said something to the effect of "that was embarrassing". 119 staff of ch returned phone call to ASI after their mechanical investigation of the aircraft, and stated that there was nothing wrong mechanically with aircraft and only minor damage to keel strip. They stated that pilot told them there was something wrong with gear and they did not come down when he put them down. Turns out he was lying, after full story came out from witnesses and mechanical investigation. Pilot was fired from ch for lying. Pilot will be counseled by ASI.
