From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Sunday the 26th of November 2023 the pilot of a Cessna 182 skylane was on a short final for landing at the Casa grande airport after dropping off his second load of parachutists for the day and attempted to incurease the throttle and noticed that he was not getting the normal response , he immediatly enriched the mixture and verified the fuel selector was in the both position. After pitching for best glide and attempting to restart the engine he was unable to glide to the runway and diverted to the left and landed the plane on the flat desert and impacted a ditch approximately 8 feet wide and 8 feet deep. The aircraft had substantial damage and there were no injuries.

I will revise the report once the NTSB have completed their investigation.
