From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot placed the landing gear down during the approach. The main landing gear did not extend. The pilot performed the manual extension procedure with no success. The pilot checked the hydraulic fluid level and found none remaining. He placed some engine oil in the reservoir to get the main gear to extend. It did not extend. The pilot advised ATC and made a main gear retracted landing. The aircraft remained on the runway centerline until the rudder authority was lost. The aircraft departed the runway to the right. The right horizontal stabilizer and elevator were damaged as a result of impact with the runway surface as the aircraft decelerated.

During the investigation it was discovered that a hydraulic line had failed in the landing gear system. The part identifed was the gear down hose assembly part number S2178-3-0144.
