From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While taxing to runup area, the A75/G pilot inadvertently collided with a Piper PA-28-161, that was performing a stationary runup on the taxiway. The lower right wing leading edge of the taxing aircraft collided with the right-wing leading edge of the parked aircraft performing the runup. The height of the low wing nearly matched the height of the Piper wing providing straight on level impact. Approximately 60% of the leading edge of both aircraft wings that made contact were damaged. The wooden spar of right lower wing on the A75/G appeared to have substantial damage. The Piper wing leading edge and wing tip were damaged but there did not appear to be structural damage.

As the FAA filed it
