What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot departed 1D2 with the electrical system indicating around 11 volts for this 12 volt aircraft system. The course of the aircraft was a northeast heading and 6 minutes into the flight the engine stopped producing power. When the voltage dropped too low, the electronic ignition system shutdown. This led to a forced landing in a subdivision causing substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot had to be hospitalized with a broken rib.
The aircraft does not have any stated limitations for the electrical system or normal operating values placarded.
