From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman departed runway 18 at Eek, AK. The airman failed to back taxi and use the whole length of the runway. The airman had to abort the takeoff and ended up going off the end of the runway. The aircraft had minor damage and no injuiries to the passengers. The spider tracks data showed that the airman had back taxied each time except on this day. The airman stated that he had a temporary lapse in judgement. The airman had recently passed a check airman observation as the pilot (not as a check airman) with the FAA. The airman just passed the 100 hour company flight check. The airman is competent and a 44709 reexamination of his commercial certificate would not be required. The airman is a low time pilot and basic experience.
