From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Arriving at Bozeman short final runway 12, approximately 900 feet above the ground the captain saw a bird ahead and stated this to the first officer. First officer had the autopilot off and maneuvered the aircraft, however ended up hitting the bird in flight. The captain believed it was a hawk or similar size bird. The captain informed the tower and continued to a normal landing. At the gate, it was discovered that the left side wing flap was damaged. Left side outboard flap assembly was replaced as a result of this incident.
