From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 22, 2025, at approximately 19:26 CDT, the PIC of privacy data omitted, an Air tractor AT-502B, departed the Mississippi County Airport (kchq), Charleston, MO, with a full payload of dry fertilizer. The PIC flew to the intended field for application located approximately 1 mile west of the airport. The PIC began a low-level right turn to the east to line up to conduct a pass over the target field. The aircraft overshot the intended heading, and during the recovery, the PIC turned left. The aircraft descended and contacted the ground with the left wing. The aircraft then rotated counter-clockwise, and came to rest in an upright profile with the engine and the propeller separating from the aircraft during the crash sequence.
