From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 21, 2025, privacy data omitted, Jacksonville International Airport (jax) to boston logan internatioanal airport (bos) declared an emergency and diverted to Washington dulles international airport (iad) due to an injured flight attendant. The captain had briefed the flight attendants on the potential for light chop during climb. At approximately 10000 ft. light chop transitioned into moderate turbulence. Sterile light was turned off at 10000 ft. just before the turbulence increased according to the captain's report.

The a flight attendant, afa, walked from the front of the cabin to the aft galley to prepare for the service. She reported the plane started shaking violently. She lost her balance shortly after. She reported the plane jumped up and down twice. The afa was lifted and hit the ceiling of the plane and came down on her ankle. The b flight attendant, bfa, assisted the afa into the secondary jump seat and an onboard nurse attended to the injured flight attendant. The captain decided to divert after learning the afa could not put weight on her foot and could not resume duties. The bfa assumed door responsibilities and duties for the afa. The flight attendant was taken to a hospital upon arrival and it was determined she has a broken ankle. 76 passengers and 4 crewmembers were onboard. No other injuries were reported.
