From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 30th, 2025, the pilot in command (PIC) was decending into 2F6 airport and reported engine failure. The PIC followed procedures for a rough engine, activated carb heat which caused further engine issues. Upon deactivating carb heat, the engine lost power. The PIC was not going to be able to make it past houses so they made an emergency landing in a field 1.5 miles north of 2F6 airport. No damage to the aircraft was sustained nor injury to the pilot.
