From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The PIC attempted to land his experimental amateur-built aircraft on the grass between the runway and taxiway, not an approved runway. The aircraft touched down, began slowing, and started to pitch forward. He stated he was pulling the yoke back as hard as he could and may have inadvertently touched the brakes. The aircraft inverted forward, accruing damage to the propellor, left wing tip, vertical stabilizer, rudder, and right wing struts. The pilot sustained minor cuts to his head. He stated he felt rushed and should have performed a go-around. The PIC noted no maintenance discrepancies prior to the accident.
