What happened

On March 13, 2026, at approximately 1716 local time, a Cessna 172 landed on runway 21 at flg. Upon touchdown, the aircraft bounced and subsequently contacted the runway nosewheel first, resulting in a tire failure.

During the landing roll, the aircraft veered to the left and departed the runway surface, coming to rest in a grass area. The aircraft struck a runway light, resulting in minor damage to the front cowl and nose tire. No injuries were reported.

ON MARCH 13, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 1716 LOCAL TIME, A CESSNA 172 LANDED ON RUNWAY 21 AT FLG. UPON TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND SUBSEQUENTLY CONTACTED THE RUNWAY NOSEWHEEL FIRST, RESULTING IN A TIRE FAILURE.

DURING THE LANDING ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE, COMING TO REST IN A GRASS AREA. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT, RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT COWL AND NOSE TIRE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.
