What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The aircraft landed with its landing gear retracted. The pilot stated that he was on a downwind approach, looking for traffic to land as the second aircraft in line. In his statement, he mentioned that he pushed down on the landing gear switch but likely failed to pull it out and put it in the down position. He also noted that he checked all systems, except the gear indicator light, when he turned onto the final approach.
