From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. The aircraft landed at Eppley Airfield, Omaha, Nebraska, without further incident. Subsequent investigation determined the LH propeller had experienced oil starvation due to a blocked propeller governor gasket screen. The source of blockage has been identified as carbon deposits. The LH propeller governor was replaced and the engine oil screen was inspected for contamination. Reinspection of the oil screen is scheduled in 10 flight hours. A mechanical interruption summary and malfunction and defect report were submitted by the operator. This incident is closed with this report.
