From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: trans states' mechanics were moving the aircraft from gate 20 of the st. Louis international airport to the maintenance hangar for routine maintenance. N341TE requested clearance from gate 20 to the sabreliner ramp. When traffic permitted, ground control instructed N341TE to hold short of runway 12R at taxiway bravo and N341TE acknowledged. Ground control then instructed N341TE to hold short and be ready after departure traffic and N341TE read back the hold short instructions. After departure traffic rolled by, ground control determined that there would not be enough room for N341TE to cross and so ground control instructed N341TE to continue holding short to await arrival traffic on short final. N341TE read back the hold short instructions. Ground control next observed N341TE crossing runway 12R without clearance. The ground controller alerted south local control of the situation and south local control issued go around instructions to the DC9 on short final. Ground control then instructed N341TE to expedite across the remainder of the runway in order to clear runway in the event that the DC-9 could not go around and had to land. There was no loss of separatio n in this incident. Incident closed.
