From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot stated that on approach to Council Bluffs, IA airport (cbf), the aircraft experienced a complete electrical failure. Pilot then shut down all electrical equipment and attempted to lower landing gear. When landing gear failed to extend pilot tried emergency extension crank, but stated crank would only turn 10 to 12 turns. Pilot landed with gear fully retracted. When aircraft was raised then lifted by jacks, emergency extension system was used to lower landing gear with no difficulty. There were no passengers, pilot was not injured, and aircraft received minor damage. Investigation of the pilot's airman records revealed he did not have a current medical. This incident is considered closed with this report.
