From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on 04-28-97, cala flight #1987, ewr-atl cruising at FL 310 experienced a #1 engine fire warning. The flight crew retarded the power lever and followed the cala/qrh. The fire warning extinguished but sounded again shortly thereafter. The flight crew continued with the quick reference handbook procedures and shut down the #1 engine. The aircraft diverted to roa. The aircraft landed on runway 4 without further incident. The cala maintenance found the lower fire loop connector corroded, and it had low resistance. Maintenance replaced the #1 engine lower fire loop, p/n 10-61096-115, performed engine run, and returned the aircraft to service. Incident closed.
