From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Coffee pot spilled on passenger during descent. Encountered cat. Lifted attendants and beverage cart off floor. (-23) a coffee pot inadvertently fell from a serving cart onto a 7-year-OLD boy when the aircraft encountered unanticipated light turbulence. This occurred after the aircraft (atl-mco) had transitioned from climbout to cruise and the flight attendants began cabin service. As a result of the coffee toppling over onto the boy, he suffered first and second degree burns. The crew notified both ATC and delta operations to have mco paramedics meet the plane for medical care and transportation to a local Orlando hospital. The boy was treated at two local hospitals and released - all within 24 hours of being injured. No further action.
