From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During climb out, gear retracted normal; however, landing gear red intransit lights did not go out. Pilot elected to return to mci and lowered gear. All three gear indicated green, down and locked. An uneventful landing was accomplished and an emergency was not declared. During gear retraction checks on the ground, maintenance at mci determined that the gear handle micro switches had malfunctioned. After the gear handle switches were cleaned, multiple retraction checks did not repeat the problem. The a/c was returned to service. With this report, incident #CE99IAC0083 is considered closed.
