From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While landing runway 14 at New Richmond, Wisconsin (krnh) pilot in command of N5237G explained that he had encountered a right crosswind. This crosswind lifted the aircraft's right wing FAR enough to strike the left wing tip on the runway tarmac. N5237C continued a left rotation forward onto aircraft's nose and then over onto back. Winds at the time were recorded as 220 @ 04 knots. Pilot had just completed a biennual flight check and received his conventional gear authorization. Aircraft received substantial damage to left wing and spar, left fuselage, and vertical stabilizer/rudder. Propeller was damaged by striking runway and bent back toward aircraft. The windshield was cracked possibly by twisting moment as aircraft rolled over or by inverted impact with runway.
