From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After takeoff from sna the landing gear would not retract and had wow input caution. Flight burned down fuel to avoid overweight landing then returned to sna. On landing had severe nose gear vibration and crew was advised that smoke was coming from MLG tires. Crew elected to evacuate aircraft on the runway from the main entrance door. There were no injuries. Mx found NLG torque links disconnected. A/c towed to gate and inspected by mx and no discrepancies noted. Both upper torque link disconnect handles operated normal and appeared to fully engage. Mx control was advised and aircraft ferried to dfw per mx control request. Contract ground personnel were questioned and everyone indicated that the torque links were never disconnected for pushback per established procedure. The aircraft was never moved on layover, the flight departed from the same gate assigned on arrival the previous evening.
