From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 12/29/2004, a Piper PA-32RT-300, N300WE piloted by privacy data omitted made a hard landing at Fulton County Airport, NY resulting in damage to the landing gear and the airframe. The flight was enroute from chester, pa (40N) to albany, NY (alb) when it encountered unforcast icing conditions. The pilot privacy data omitted elected to divert to Fulton County Airport (NY0) due to ice accumulation. Ice accumulation caused a reduction in lift for which the pilot privacy data omitted was unable to compensate. This resulted in a hard landing. There were no injuries to the pilot privacy data omitted or his three (3) passengers. This case is considered closed.
