What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The student pilot flared but hit the ground hard and bounced back into the air. The aircraft came down left of the centerline. The student applied right rudder to bring the aircraft back to center and the nose gear collapsed. It appears that the nose tire seal was broken from too much rudder being applied on the second touchdown, allowing the tire to go flat.
