From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 21, 2005, at approximately 1550 CDT, N2521M was destroyed following an emergency landing into a mesquite field south of Carrizo Springs airport. The emergency was a result of the stabilator trim rod failure in flight causing a violent vibration throughout the aircraft. The vibration was so violent the pilot believed the cause was from the aircraft engine assemblies. The vibrations caused the pilot to feather both engines and total loss of aircraft power to avoid in-flight breakup of the aircraft. The pilot was not injured, two of the three passengers sustained minor injuries.
