From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that during the takeoff roll, the tail wheel came off the ground as normally expected, but settled back to the ground near the end of the runway. The pilot stated that he dumped the load of chemical and attempted to fly the aircraft off of the ground. The landing gear collided with a 3-4 foot stand of cotton at the end of the runway and caused the aircraft to crash approximately 100 feet from the departure end of the runway. The pilot stated that he did not notice any anomalies with the aircraft; however, he suspected a loss of engine power at the end of the takeoff roll. The pilot also reported that he had previously departed the same grass strip earlier in the day at a higher gross weight with a higher outside air temperature.
