From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted two occupants: pilot in command (PIC) and safety pilot. Wind: 350@03; visibility: 10; altimeter: 2997; sky conditions: clear; temp: 12 degrees c; dew point: 09 degrees c. PIC stated: 1) he was conducting ILS approaches after dark at Oxnard Airport. 2) normally, gear-down occurs at glideslope intersection (gs) per checklist. 3) not "many flight hours" in this aircraft, and PIC was trying to accomplish his "instrument currency" at the time of the accident. 4) throttle was in position for a normal landing. During interview, the pilot ^privac^ stated to iic that he "forgot to lower his landing gear." Pilot stated that there were no other contributing factors.
