From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot landed at kryn and went off runway 6R. As the aircraft departed the runway, the right main gear separated from the aircraft. As the gear separated, it punctured the lower skin of the right flap and the lower portion of the fuselage. Also damaged was the right wing tip, right aileron and the right step. The pilot stated after the aircraft touched down, he was putting the flaps up and the aircraft began to pull to the right. He counteracted by adding left rudder. The pilot says he over compensated with the left rudder and departed the runway. The pilot also added that he may have been on the brakes, causing the plane to veer to the right, but is not sure.
