From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8/30/2013 ameriflight 2688 departed kphx for hermosillio, Mexico and experienced a "duct overheat warning" that could not be extinguished. The pilot per qrh shut down the l/h engine and returned to kphx safely. Troubleshooting found the l/h pressure regulator valve receiver clamp failed allowing hot air to trip the overheat warning sensor. The clamp was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service. The air carrier completed an SDR and m or d for the failed clamp.
