What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft N719XJ, a Cessna citation 750, was being repositioned from san francisco international airport to Oakland International Airport on 04/10/2016 at approximately 12:30 pm local time, the aircraft landed at Oakland on runway 28 left. The main wheels touched down and then as the nose tire touched down the nose gear retracted and the aircraft rested on the nose landing gear doors. As this happened the pilot saw the landing gear lever "snap" into the up position. The aircraft continued to slide approximately 2500 feet until it came to rest on the runway. Damage to the aircraft is limited to the nose landing gear doors and a VHF antenna on the belly of the fuselage. Investigation and trouble shooting has proven the landing gear handle was not completely in the down position. The condition where the landing gear handle is placed between the up and down position will cause the landing gear to extend and the three green down and lock lights will illuminate.
