From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 4, 2017, N198GA struck a runway light with the right propeller braking. This resulted in a 5 inch piece being broken off of one propeller blade.

The PIC stated that upon landing on runway 22 he had difficulty slowing the aircraft. He stated that the runway had been plowed but braking action was poor so he did not use the breaks. He instead decided to put the propellers into beta and reverse but he was unable to stop before striking the runway light at th end of the runway.
