From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During landing the aircraft encountered a wind change and drifted off the centerline of the runway. The aircraft touched down in the gravel/ grass area on the left side of the runway near the approach end. Aircraft continued swerving to the left for a short time before striking trees and coming to rest in a wooded area. Pilot states that during the event power was applied to correct the drift and sink caused by the wind change but was ineffective to stop the event once it started.
