From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot landed at approximately 1400 local time, normal landing ensued, followed by: hard left uncommanded deviation from runway centerline. Pilot attempted maximum correction to the right with rudder/steering controls to keep the aircraft tracking on the runway. These inputs did not correct directional control . Aircraft veered further left and contacted taxiway sign at center taxiway . Nose gear collapsed due to sharp left turning motion and left hand skid on all three landing gear, as shown by marks on the runway. Pilot stated that he had been correcting for a slight right crosswind, with minimal left rudder usage when the aircraft nose settled on the runway and immediately veered "hard left" off of the runway, collapsing the nosegear in the soft sod.
