From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot touched down on the lake and attempted to retract flaps while taxiing at high-speed (on step). Aircraft veered to the left and contacted the bank at an angle with the left float which destroyed an airport light fixture. The right float impacted the bank approximately 25 feet beyond the initial contact point. The aircraft tipped to the right and the right wing tip hit the bottom of the lake through 8-10 inches of water. Aircraft came to a rest at a right-wing-down angle but remained right-side up at the edge of the water. Pilot was able to self-extract.
