From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was conducting single-pilot, cargo-only operations and was to reposition back to khya with no freight onboard. While holding short of runway 6, the pilot in command (PIC) was performing pre-takeoff checks and noticed the navigation (nav) light switch was in the 'off' position. The PIC selected the switch to 'on' and shortly afterwards noticed a electrical burning smell and white smoke coming from the nav light switch.

The PIC notified ATC that there was an electrical fire onboard and declared an emergency, shut off electrical power, then evacuated the aircraft through the crew door and waited for airfield fire rescue to arrive.
