From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Weather brief at mpo prior to takeoff, "marginal VFR." Per pilots statement. Pilot took off and proceeded to do two touch and go landings at avp. Climbing out of avp at appx. 2600 ft. pilot encountered unexpected precipitation. (Snow) pilot stated that he was startled because he could not see outside of the airplane. He focused on his attitude indicator, and maintained level wings, but did not notice that he was gradually descending. He does not remember seeing the ground prior to the crash.
