From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 4, 2023, about 1030 local time, the PIC of the PA18 was making a landing along the bank of the Susitna River delta. The PIC landed the aircraft on a clearing approximately mid field at a high rate of speed. The terrain was very deep sand yet soft. The terrain added an unexpected friction factor of decelaration, along with the PIC accomplishing hard breaking caused the aircraft to pitch forward; thus striking the prop and turning the aircraft over onto its back.
