From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A private pilot with multi-engine solo endorsement departed the airport to south on a cross country flight. As he assended to about 4500' AGL he noticed the left engine had a manifold pressure of 21 inches and the right engine had 23 inches. The pilot attempted to adjust the left engine with no results and decided to return to the airport. As the aircraft approached the runway pilot reported loss of power to the left engine with no throttle response. Just before the aircraft crossed the runway threshold the aircraft stalled and cartwheeled to the left of the runway. This report will be amended at a future date if additional information is discovered.
