From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On February 17, 2024, approximately 1421 local time, the PIC stated that she was attempting to land early on runway 33 at Kwigillingok airport, AK. PIC expected runway (rwy) with wet ice and slush with mixed light gravel. The PIC stated she approached the rwy at 700 ft then entered a left dogleg downwind for rwy 33 with visibility of less than 5 miles, no icing, winds less than 4 knots, and windsock limp. The PIC then stated she reduced power for the rwy conditions and upon touchdown, retracted flaps to transfer weight for braking. Shortly after rollout the aircraft hit a frost heave that tossed the aircraft back into the air. After settling the aircraft back to the ground, PIC noticed she had lost valuable rwy. PIC applied full brakes and this led the plane to fishtail. Then PIC alternated braking on and off and then back to full braking and the aircraft overran the end of the rwy and came to rest approximately 10-12 ft past the plowed area.
