What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
While flying for a fish spotting operation in the gulf of Mexico the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit. He checked his gages and noticed the engine was losing oil pressure. He started looking for a place to make an emergency landing and saw an island beach where he landed the aircraft. Upon landing the nose wheel dug into sand causing it to sheer rearward resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. The cause of the smoke and lose of oil pressure was a broken oil pressure transmitter line.
