From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Cea 1571, on an east arrival was cleared to descend and maintain 7000' and advised of N638SP at 6000' and N480Y, VFR at 6500' sw bound. Cea 1571 acknowledged traffic and held N638SP on TCAS. Vectors were given to cea 1571 to avoid the other aircraft. The other aircraft received advisories. Cea 1571 received a ra to descend, which he did and followed further ATC vectors ot the ILS for a normal landing on runway 23 left at rdu. The TCAS worked as intended and was probably initiated by N480Y deviating slightly from the 6500' in VFR conditions approximately 1 mile away. Cea 1571 operated properly under an IFR clearance and followed all vectors and instructions.
