From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 01/14/2004 at approx. 11:20 am, received a telephone call from the colgan cmt with information that a colgan BE-1900-C was due to land at alb at 11:45AM with a nose landing gear problem. The crew was unable to get the nose gear down and locked and would attempt an emergency landing gear extension, or may have to execute a nose gear-up landing. As requested by the cmt, inspectors from the Albany FSDO went to alb to standby. The aircraft landed uneventfully at alb at aprox. 12:10PM with FAA, ARFF, and company maint. Personnel standing by. Landing gear was pinned and aircraft towed to the maintenance hangar. Both pilot and co-pilot were interviewed by inspectors from alb FSDO. Pilot stated that after several attempts (unsuccessful) to lower the nose gear using the abnormal checklist, and after consulting with company maintenance, the PIC decided to reset associated circuit breakers which were previously pulled. This action reengaged the landing gear motor followed by three green downlock indications and the in-transit (red) light in the gear handle extinguished. Mx reported they replaced three lg actuators, purged hyd system, & replaced assoc. Filters (directed by dom).
