From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he was low on fuel and was returning to Mountain Home Municipal Airport (U76) from an aerial application job in the grandview, Idaho area when fuel starvation forced the pilot to make an off airport landing one mile southwest of U76 on airbase road. During the eastbound landing, the aircraft struck a gravel truck traveling in the same direction as the aircraft. The aircraft was spun around and was forced off the road. The collision with the gravel truck caused major damage to the propeller, and the right wing tip and leading edge. When the aircraft went off the road, the right landing gear sustained major damage. There were no injuries and no damage to property on the ground. The pilot admitted that he thought that he had more fuel on board than he actually had.
