From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot was spraying when he hit a powerline and knocked it down. The powerline missed the prop, but hit the landing gear and before it broke it knocked the fuel sump/strainer drain nipple off. The aircraft lost all fuel, the engine quit running, and the pilot made an emergency landing on a dirt road @ 3/4 mile from the powerline and @ 1.5 miles from base. Sheriff and aircraft owner reported no structural damage to aircraft. Photos received from malheur county sheriff's office revealed no substantial structural damage.
