From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) PIC made a radio call inbound to 7WA5 (Stuart Island airpark - east). He heard no other calls for the airport. Upon reaching 7WA5 he noticed a plane on runway 09 ready to take off. The airplane then taxied to a parking area at midfield and cleared the runway. The PIC of N9428G elected to continue his approach and land on runway 27. After touchdown on the turf runway, he noted the standing water on the runway and the poor braking. The aircraft left the runway striking the propeller and left wing. Substantial damage and no injuries to the pilot or passenger. The passenger was a company employee (station manager).
