From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On approach to Kenosha regional airport (enw), when the pilot extended the landing gear he did not get a nose gear down and locked light. Several attempts were made to cycle the gear and the emergency system was attempted with no results. The pilot then did a fly by of the tower who verified that the nose gear was only partially extended. At that point a landing was made and the nose gear collapsed. Examination by maintenance discovered that a push pull tube that runs from the gearbox to a bellcrank below the pilot's feet had broken.
