From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 16, 2016 aircraft was enroute VFR from ktmb to kbkv. On right downwind for runway 21 pilot initiated pre-landing checklist. When landing gear was extended the right main landing gear did not extend. Pilot departed the pattern to troubleshoot issue. After cycling landing gear numerous times the right gear did not extend. At that time the pilot initiated emergency gear extension with negative results. The pilot then declared an emergency and decided to land gear up in the grass next to the active runway. Emergency landing was performed with no injury to persons on board and minor damage to aircraft. Subsequently to the emergency landing maintenance determined that the right gear door actuator rod had failed and jammed between the gear and spar not allowing the landing gear to extend.
