From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: --on 12-12-95, Cessna model T210 airplane, N7398M, being operated by prompt air inc. landed at standiford field (sdf) in Louisville, KY with the main landing gear retracted. The aircraft was hauling cargo under FAR part 135. --according to prompt air's dispatcher, while on a cargo flight to chattanooga, TN the pilot communicated that the landing gear would not extend. He recycled the gear and attempted to pump the gear down, only locking the nose gear. The pilot inspected the hydraulic reservoir finding it empty. Dispatch requested that the pilot fill the reservoir with hydraulic fluid that was located in the aft of the aircraft. The pilot could not access the fluid because of cargo. The pilot then improvised by urinating in a flash light using it to service the reservoir. The main landing gear still could not be extended. The pilot declared an emergency with ATCT and exercised the emergency procedures for a gear-up landing. He elected to land on runway 29 at sdf Louisville, KY. He landed with the nose landing gear locked but both mains were not in the down and locked position. --there were no injuries, aircraft damage was minor, limited to the right horizontal stabilizer, right elevator, and bottom tail of the aircraft. The certificate holding office (GOL03) will follow up on the cause of the malfunction.
