The pilot noted that there was no green light illuminated to indicate that the landing gear was in the safe down and lock condition. The pilot also noticed an intermittent flickering light for the landing gear up position. The pilot proceeded to notify sgf tower of the situation and conducted a fly-by the tower to verify (that after performing all emergency procedures) that the landing gear remained in a partial down transient position. An emergency landing was declared with emergency equipment deployed and standing by the landing field. The pilot landed the aircraft without sustaining any injury and the aircraft only receiving minor damage to the fuselage. On examination, aviation enterprises, inc., found a broken landing gear hydraulic line that had resulted in the loss of fluid and landing gear failure. This line (part no. 12A0509-81) was replaced and several landing gear retraction test operations were conducted. A malfunction or defect report (FAA form 8010-4) has been submitted. This incident number CE96IGA0075 is closed.
